The Official site has now announced that from tomorrow Season Ticket holders can now purchases 2 tickets extra per season ticket for the semi final. Along with with this there is an effective general sale of tickets to anyone with a booking history this season.
The rumour around is up to 5,000 Season ticket holders have not brought a semi ticket and over 5000 remain for sale.
I have got to say I do not understand that at all. Yes we were only down in London 4/5 weeks ago and yes it is an expensive business but surely the FA cup is our destiny, after 53 years of hurt we will win the bloody thing some time and why not now.
Yes so we lost to Chelsea 7-1 the other week but that has no baring on a one off cup game, why get so disheartened about it ? Surely you want to say you was there at Wembley when we got revenge for 2000 ?
Surely that is worth a £50-80 payout ?
However with the details announced today I can not imagine us not selling out now and maybe with fans being there for their only time then the atmosphere could be better ?
UPDATE – 15:00 – 07/04 – Rung up ticket office today to renew season ticket and asked about availability and was told 3500 left
Aston Villa News 24/7
the basic truth is we do not have as many dedicated fans as we would all like to think. I live in a road full of Villa fans some who dangle their villa air freshners in their cars and wear the shirt at the kids football, but even though I offer them a chance of ticket they can’t be bothered.
Its a free country I suppose but it amazes me.
agree pickaxe, if you don;t mind me asking where do you live
I have this theory, a large number of our supporter base is from well off sutton coldfield and maybe the passion is simply not here unlike in other areas who do not have the cash for modern PL football ?
Not selling out is purely down to the farcical Villa ticket office.
Firstly stating you have to pick tickets up in person, then announcing you can exceptionally get them posted, to now saying it’s too late to post (even the offer of paying extra to cover special delivery was rebuffed -”we just don’t do that”). I’m not a season ticket holder this season, and now I live 200 miles away – I still get to as many games as I can afford (11 this season). I would happily pay my money and go on Sat but the club have made this impossible.
The club announcements get more desperate each day, and their initial disregard for a large number of supporters means it’s now too late to fill our Wembley allocation. Bit embarrassing when we already get other clubs taking the p*ss for us not filling our ground, let alone Wembley.
If this was any other commercial operation people would just shop elsewhere, but the sorry thing is I will still happily hand over my cash at every opportunity if it means I get to attend more games.
superb piece of summing up Tom Pongo …
can no one get tickets for you tom and you pick them up between now and saturday
Tom I don’t see why you just don’t phone up like I did and get tickets! I live over 100 miles away and ordered the tickets fine.
The worst thing that will happen is that you can collect them from Wembley.
