The News of the World is running with a story that Mark Hughes is the favourite to take over IF MON walks.
The story states that Hughes would not be prepared to speak to Villa unless MON has gone after his experience at Man City. This fails on so many levels it is laughable, never mind it is the rumour that has done the rounds for so long so nothing has been learnt from Tuesday’s farce.
They even say that MON would walk away if as rumoured Randy wants to bring in a Director of Football but then there is a link to Liverpool of all places when the owners are the worse to work for in the league.
Nonsense stuff.

Aston Villa News 24/7
This is utter bollocks and I’m a bit annoyed that you haven’t said that in your headline, tbh.
I’m fairly sure even the MON haters wouldn’t want Sparky, as he offers nothing better, imo.
A director of football, after MON has already said (about 18 months ago) he could never work like that?
So the shitstorm continues
And sorry to say, you’re feeding it Ian.
jesus i hate tabloids…
lazy lazy lazy “journalism”.
not really Villan, it is a national newspaper as a major article, think I made it clear how much I think it is rubbish, fair comment about the headline will change it slightly
Yes it’s a major story, but one that you know is rubbish.
Hence it should be played down, not up imo.
Especially after the crap we’ve had this week.
Fair play for looking at the headline again though
V, the idea of why I started this blog was to reflect the good and bad of what was out there.
Clearly I think the story is rubbish, it is a rumour that has been around for 2/3 weeks now
What MON said earlier and as quoted is far more important
besides surely no one out there actually thinks that Hughes is better than MON ?
Ha, don’t know what happened there with the “V” thing.
I assume you knew it was me
“besides surely no one out there actually thinks that Hughes is better than MON ?”
Well the screws of the world does, which is why I’m so disappointed in this article.
It is of course legitimate, but let’s get the headline in the right context eh?
And you have done.
Fair play mate.
We dont need no Mark Hughes, we dont need no a.n. other either.
We’ve got the best man for the job, in house right now.
Just let him get on with it, and finish the task.
It would be like having O’leary back again .
Lol JLH, I sometimes wonder as to whether Villa fans remember just how bad it was under DOL. “They’re an honest bunch of lads” etc. Last Saturday hurt MON and the crap that went this week on the back of it has hopefully made all Villa fans sit up and realise just how lucky we are.
In MON we trust, pride restored yesterday, the travelling contingent were awesome (as ever) — lets have some serious plotting of how to turn over a Chelse team currently flying. Under DOl we would have been fearing an even bigger drubbing, under MON — hope remains eternal.
