MON to stay or go, can be read either way

MON has had his press conference today and as reported on the Guardian site you could read into his comments whichever way you believe.

“I will assess everything at the end of the season. I will sit down with the chairman and see where we are going. There will be a number of determining factors – the supporters, the chairman – who will have a big part in proceedings, and I will also play a part because it is my life. I will assess everything at the end of the season. I am contracted on a yearly basis and would hope to continue.”

I think he is asking to be loved in this quote, he wants Randy and the fans to say that with words and actions from Randy. Is he asking for one final backing from the owner to complete the team ?

PLEASE STAY

I gladly offer that up now.

Obviously others have read into these comments that he could be leaving so MON is leaving all options open in my view.

O’Neill said: “I have been here four years, and four years ago the club was in a pretty depressed state. I still have the energy and vitality of someone who is 15 years younger and that zest has kept me going. In terms of the Champions League, we are going to still give it a go as long as it is possible and I expect a positive response from the players after what happened at Chelsea.”

Agree with all that but the big question is what happens if he does not get a positive response, the players really have MON’ future in their hands, that have to stand up and be counted.

I will state this again, I fully support MON 100%, If I was at the Reebok on Saturday I would be shouting myself hoarse for him and I hope whilst I am watching/listening to the game back home we hear that from all the fans.

In my view, simply there is no better manager for the job.

  1. This whole affair has devolved into a disgrace. The treatment that MON has received from fans has been shocking. Supporters have such short memories. There’s no doubt in my mind that he is still the man for the job.

  2. agree VFT and I think he needs to be reassured of that

would want no one else in charge but he has to sort March out !!

  3. In MON I trust! The best man for the job… No doubt in my opinion. All the negative vibes are detracting from the exceptional job he is doing and the amazing progress we have made. I agree with MON that maybe we need one more big push this summer, an exceptional creative midfielder & a top-class goal-scorer. These players will not come cheap but would be considered bargains if we get to the hallowed CL!!

  4. Already on his way to LFC unfortunately. Mark Hughes already signed pre-contract with the Villains.

  5. Now Chris, should I post that and cause more trouble, apparently ???

  6. id prefere roy hodgson

  7. DOESN’T TAKE AN EINSTEIN TO READ BETWEEN THE LINES DOE’S IT ? OH & MON WOULD GET CRUCIFIED AT LFC SERVING UP THE TRIPE WE ARE WATCHING LATELY. MIND YOU MON & THE FAT SPANISH MANUEL DO HAVE A SHOCKING TRANSFER RECORD WITH MORE DISASTERS THAN SUCCESS’…

  8. Mon is simply the right man for the job. I do believe that you can read his press conference today two different ways and he being the man he is would want it exactly that way.
We have progressed year on year under his tutorship and he knows we are one 20 goals a season striker away from challenging the SKY 4. So why would he walk away. If Randy says no to any further support then I’m sure he will do just that.
Heres hoping he remains our manager, the best manager we could hope for.

  9. totally agree smitzer, at this point I can not think of anyone better. Watched some of the extracts ad the man has passion for the game and team

lets go out there on saturday and smash Bolton in

  10. mate cant believe what is going on at the moment. one bad loss and the world (and supporters) seem to crumble. looking into that interview with mon, he quashes the report that he had fallen out with randy and that he has 80m to spend.

mon is the right man for the job, who else of equal or better calibre could replace him at the moment? even if there was someone available and willing, id still want mon anyday of the week.

the one thing mon (and randy) have brought to this club is stability. and even with all the money in the world, if you dont have stability…it means very little.

its disappointing that mon does not have unilateral support from this club and its supporters.
