Villa go through to FA Youth Cup Semi-Final after dramatic game in front of MON

In a dramatic finale to the FA Youth cup 1/4 final at Craven Cottage Villa beat Fulham 3-1 on penalties to face Newcastle in the 2nd leg Semi-Final, the first leg I believe at St. James Park. This was in front of MON watching the game from the bench which shows his commitment to the club from top to bottom.

A even 90 minutes saw a Poyser goal equalise for Villa in the second half to take Villa into a period of Extra Time.

However in the 2nd half of extra time Trotta for Fulham (their outstanding player) scored the goal that seemed to put Fulham through. However Villa’s never say die attitude that runs at every level from First Team to Youth level was never more apparent. With virtually the last kick of the game in injury time Devine scored in a goal scramble to get Villa to penalties.

Barratt who has been training with Guzan, obviously learnt a lot with two penalty saves to put Villa through to the semi with on penalties, this cup lark for Villa is fun this season !!

Fantastic stuff from the kids (without the two stars of the team Ben Siegreist and Gary Gardner, both out with long term injuries)
