Well that was better, much better.
A Villa team stripped of numerous players played from the first minute to the last one with a determination and aggression that was possibly borne out of anger after what had happened at West Ham.
What the game proved to me was that at home 4-4-2 is the way to go and especially with Young looking like getting back to form and Milner superb all game we created so many chances and for the first time this season we put chances away with aplomb with 5 different scorers.
For the next two weeks in the international break MON has some interesting choices to make and especially does Petrov get back in and in the place of whom. On that performance NRC and Sidwell do not deserve to get dropped but I would like to see a combination of NRC and Petrov at some stage this season.
So as we head into 5th place with some wasted games like Wigan and West Ham after nearly a third of the season we are in a very good position with Downing now in full training, squad strength will just increase and hopefully a good forward in the Winter to come.
Villa fans can moan more than most for sure but maybe as I always say we should have more faith in MON and what he is trying to build for the long term at Villa Park.
