The game was one I expected us to win and after three minutes all looked fine and for the next 20 minutes we were in goal but then a sloppy goal changed the game. For the rest of the game it looked like heading towards a draw and then another piece of bad defending by Dunne cost us and that was it.

We could debate all the time about the formations and the substitution of Delph for Heskey but I agree with MON when he says it players that matter and not formations. Frankly today the players let us down but all is not lost, it is a defeat that ended a very good run but now we have two major test coming up and hopefully the return of Sidwell, given his great record when he plays may make a difference.

What today showed was that we have to learn against the lower teams to shut out games more convincing like say Spurs do, we have to develop a ruthless streak to put these teams away because we are good enough to do that.

On a positive note lets praise to the heavens the current form of Gabby he is looking the ‘real deal’ and lets just hope this continues for the rest of the season because if/when Carew gets back to the form we know he can do that is how we can put teams away.
